ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking experienced, resourceful concierge professionals to join the guest services team at a new luxury hotel in New York City.

Reporting to the Head Concierge, the Concierge will provide thoughtful, highly personalized assistance to hotel guests, including international travelers, VIPs, corporate executives, and guests celebrating special occasions. The role calls for exceptional knowledge of New York City, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage detailed requests from initial inquiry through final confirmation.

As part of a three-person on-property concierge team, the successful candidate will help establish the hotel’s service reputation from its opening and work closely with Four Hundred’s off-property support team when requests require additional resources or coverage.

  • Develop thoughtful itineraries and recommendations based on each guest’s interests, schedule, and preferences.

  • Anticipate guest needs, confirm arrangements, communicate changes, and follow through until each request is complete.

  • Handle last-minute, complex, and time-sensitive requests with composure and resourcefulness.

  • Recognize situations requiring escalation and promptly involve the Head Concierge or appropriate hotel leadership.

  • Coordinate with Front Office, Guest Relations, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and other departments to deliver consistent service.

  • Protect guest privacy and handle personal information, preferences, and activities with strict confidentiality.

New York City Expertise & Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with restaurants, venues, transportation providers, and other trusted local partners.

  • Stay informed about openings, exhibitions, performances, and neighborhood developments through ongoing research and firsthand experience.

Teamwork & Pre-Opening Support:

  • Work collaboratively with the Head Concierge and fellow concierges to maintain continuity across shifts.

  • Provide accurate handovers on pending requests, guest preferences, confirmations, and unresolved matters.

Administrative & Operational Responsibilities:

  • Maintain complete, accurate records of guest requests, bookings, confirmations, expenses, and follow-up communications.

  • Verify reservation details, cancellation terms, pricing, and special arrangements before communicating them to guests.

  • Use hotel and concierge technology responsibly and maintain accurate guest preference information.

  • Follow hotel policies, security requirements, privacy standards, and established vendor and gratuity procedures.

  • Bring service concerns, guest feedback, and operational issues to the Head Concierge promptly.

  • Professional judgment, discretion, reliability, and comfort working in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.

  • Familiarity with reservation platforms, hotel systems, and standard office technology.

  • Availability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred:

  • Experience at a five-star hotel or internationally recognized luxury property.

  • Established relationships with New York City restaurants, entertainment venues, and service providers.

  • Membership in Les Clefs d’Or or an interest in pursuing its professional standards.

  • Experience with a luxury hotel opening or new concierge operation.

  • Fluency in additional languages.
