SPRING, INSIDE: THE HOME REFRESH
Contributor - Lindsey Friel | Lifestyle Consultant • 4/16/26
With the season at our doorstep, our top picks for refreshing and renewing your space.
One of my favorite turns comes in mid-April, when that first spring day settles over the city. With windows open and new light pouring in, it’s hard not to feel the itch for a homefront refresh. It’s natural, almost circadian, arriving like clockwork each year. Smaller—fresh flowers and patterned pillows—or bigger—new furniture or art—the instinct to add to your space feels in tune with the season’s change.
This month, we’re highlighting a few of our top New York City home stores that answer that nagging need for renewal and revival. Small or big, their inventories offer the perfect dose of springtime freshness—adding back a much-needed breath of life back to your home after a long winter’s sleep.
LOVE HOUSE
179 E Broadway
A design haven for contemporary aficionados, Love House feels deeply tapped into the world of modern design. The curated inventory is highly intentional—pieces co-founders Jared Heinrich and Aric Yeakey would seek out in their own world, one that is visionary and rooted in the visual arts. Think wood, stone, marble, and metal—where edges are curved or etched, natural and striking.
Make an appointment to visit their Lower East Side space or stay tuned for the debut of their new Greenwich Village showroom.
NICKEY KEHOE
49 E 10th St
A trip to this design oasis in Greenwich Village will have you inspired, overwhelmed with curiosity and seeking out a revamp. The two-level store truly feels special, with little nooks showcasing different outlets of a home, each touched with a personality inspired by tradition, timelessness, and a touch of whimsy. It’s a store that translates into a home.
Their inventory is expansive, specializing in seating, tables, beds, lighting, mirrors, and outdoors. They also carry an impressive list of vintage homeware.
CLIC
140 W Broadway
With locations in St. Barth’s, California, East Hampton, and New York City, Clic has become a namesake for remarkable design. It’s a perfect catch-all for all things revamp: from art, coffee table books, pillows, glassware, and even life-sized sheep. Christiane Celle is the mastermind behind the brand's ethos; showcasing the playfulness of bohemian chic with a distinct modern edge.
For our New Yorkers, Clic has storefronts in Tribeca, SoHo, and the Upper East Side. The largest being Tribeca with an accompanying selection of clothing items.
COMING SOON
53 Canal St
For a more whimsical approach to design, Coming Soon’s store in the Lower East Side feels like a homage to mismatch, color, and art deco. Their inventory is unexpected – see the Round the Clock series to understand – but fresh, vibrant and very much needed in a world of neutrals and minimalism. This feels like the perfect store to set your summer party tablescapes with, and after the brutal winter, colorful tableware feels like the perfect antidote.
For those who have visited Palm Heights, a quick note: Coming Soon partnered on the hotel’s original interior concept and sourced much of its vintage furniture.
ABC HOME
888 Broadway
A classic and tremendous spot in Flatiron, ABC Home continues to impress with evolving inventory that stays true to their notion of spirited design. The showroom is expansive and drenched in color – from pillows, lamp shades, rugs, sofas, and glassware. It’s easy to find one piece that inspires an itch for freshness and newness, an itch that is sure to breathe new life into your home.
A stop is well-appointed with a visit to ABC Kitchen next door. A perfect apéritif.

Originally from Pennsylvania, studied hospitality at Boston University but learned the most by wandering through the nooks and crannies of the industry itself. I spent time writing for small publications, highlighting lifestyle and hospitality through storytelling — my favorite medium. Admittedly, my love of the field has grown into an insatiable curiosity: always chasing the newest and coolest, the biggest and smallest, the in-betweens and overlooked. Now based in New York City, I remain enamored with the endless ways people gather, connect, and create experiences that stay with you long after you leave.
