ALL ABOARD! THE MARK SAILBOAT RETURNS FOR A BOLDLY LAVISH SEASON ON THE WATER

The Mark proudly calls itself “New York’s most boldly lavish hotel.” And while its iconic Jacques Grange–designed lobby, high-profile culinary collaborations, Met Gala buzz, and star-studded energy speak for themselves, the hotel has also—somewhat quietly—cornered the market on something unexpectedly transportive: a private sailboat.

Now in its seventh season, The Mark’s 70-foot Herreshoff is back on the water—and it remains one of the most stylish and singular ways to experience New York City. As one of the last of its kind, this vintage stunner sets sail from Tribeca’s North Cove Marina, gliding through the harbor on a two-hour journey with show-stopping views of the Statue of Liberty, One World Trade, and the ever-iconic Manhattan skyline.

Having lived in New York for nearly fifteen years, I can say few things excite me quite like the prospect of this sail. It’s the kind of experience that sparks a “how lucky am I?” moment—whether you’re entertaining out-of-town guests or toasting the season with friends, family, or colleagues. Picture an early summer evening, golden hour spilling over the Hudson, Champagne in hand, a Jean-Georges canapé just within reach. You’re present. You’re floating. And yes—you’re absolutely in a movie.

There are two ways to experience this nautical magic: a festive, ticketed sail or an impossibly lavish private charter. Whether you're in the mood for a lively social soirée or a bespoke celebration, there's a configuration to match your summer state of mind.

TICKETED SAILS: INTIMATE, ELEVATED, AND UNFORGETTABLE

Ticketed sails are ideal for those eager to experience the magic of The Mark Sailboat without organizing a private charter. Limited to just 25 guests, these curated outings strike the perfect balance between intimate and celebratory.

As the boat sets sail into the golden glow of sunset, guests are treated to a Champagne toast and an elegant selection of canapés, crafted by none other than Jean-Georges Vongerichten, straight from his restaurant at The Mark.

Think the perfect menu doesn’t exist? Think again. You'll enjoy:

• Champagne Toast
• Maine Lobster Roll
• Chilled Watermelon with Coach Farm Chèvre
• Crispy Sea Trout with Chipotle Mayo & Sweet Soy
• Heirloom Tomato Toast with Basil
• King Crab Summer Roll
• Crisp Gulf Shrimp with Sweet Chili Sauce
• Chilled Oysters with Smoked Trout Roe

Every bite, every sip, every sunset view—designed to transport you.

PRIVATE CHARTERS: A BESPOKE JOURNEY

If you're after something more tailored, Private Charters are available and endlessly customizable. Perfect for milestone birthdays, engagement celebrations, executive entertaining—or simply celebrating summer—private sailings offer the freedom to craft your own nautical fantasy.

In collaboration with Caviar Kaspia at The Mark, charters can feature a fully customized menu, bespoke service, and any number of luxurious touches. Think: caviar towers, floral arrangements, live music, or even custom gift bags. If you can imagine it, The Mark can make it happen.

DESIGN MEETS HISTORY ON THE HIGH SEAS

Stepping aboard is like stepping into a living artifact of elegance. Built in 1921 by legendary yacht designer Nathanael Greene Herreshoff, this vessel is a masterpiece of craftsmanship. With Indian teak decks, custom brass fixtures, and nods to The Mark’s signature aesthetic, it’s both a throwback and a triumph—balancing old-world charm with modern luxury.

MAKE IT YOUR MOMENT

Whether you're a longtime New Yorker who thinks you've done it all, or a visitor seeking that big-screen New York moment, this is your chance. With so much to do in the city come May, few experiences feel this effortlessly transportive—quite literally.

PLAN YOUR SAIL

All sailings depart from 400 South End Avenue, with guest check-in between 6:00 PM and 6:30 PM. Please note the boat will depart promptly; late arrivals cannot be accommodated. Safety waivers will be provided in advance and must be signed prior to boarding.

Ticketed Sails are final sale, non-refundable, and non-transferrable.

First Sail of the Season: Saturday, May 24 at 6:30 PM

Additional Spring/Summer 2025 dates:
• Thursday, May 29
• Saturday, June 7
• Sunday, June 15
• Friday, June 20
• Saturday, June 28

Reservations are now open, and space is limited—especially for ticketed sails.

Our Consultants are standing by to assist with bookings via Resy and help you plan your perfectly curated moment on the water. This might sound like a fever dream, but rest assured—it’s as real as it gets.

You bring the sense of occasion (and maybe a silk scarf or two). The Mark will take care of the rest.

Anchors aweigh.
