For this cold winter month in NYC, we have curated a guide for some of the best dessert experiences around — from elegant fine-dining, after-dinner plates, to creative sweets worth saving room for.

These are desserts at restaurants that are often dessert-menu stars — either Instagram-worthy or lauded by critics.

Baked Alaska at Gage & Tollner – A dramatic, classic dessert that’s become a signature at this historic Brooklyn restaurant; wildly popular and well-reviewed.

Sticky Toffee Pudding at Hawksmoor NYC (Flatiron) – A rich British-style dessert with a perfect balance of sweetness and depth.

Cornhusk Meringue / Corn Mousse at Cosme – This creative, textural dessert is one of NYC’s most talked-about fine-dining desserts and inspired popular offshoots around the city.

Sachertorte at Café Sabarsky - A classic Viennese chocolate cake with apricot jam, a staple at Sabarsky.

Chocolate Chunk Cookie at Gramercy Tavern's - This famous cookie is a giant, decadent, known for its mix of white, milk, and dark chocolate, brown butter, and a sprinkle of sea salt, often served as a delightful ending to a meal

Prior to Four Hundred she worked in the kitchens of several Michelin star restaurants throughout Mexico, Spain and NY. What she enjoys the most when it comes to travel, is doing a lot of research. Specially when it comes to the "hidden gems" for local food and specialty coffee.
