ABOUT THE JOB

We are looking for highly motivated Travel Consultants with 2+ years of experience to join our growing travel team. We are looking for someone who can provide premium service levels, pro-actively anticipate the travel needs of high profile and high net worth clients, personalize the communication and delivery of the service to meet the specific needs of each client, and present options and proposals effectively based on the client’s expressed needs.

This job involves a moderate degree of complexity within established procedures and a high degree of creativity in meeting the individual needs of clients. Employees must be comfortable operating independently, with minimal supervision, in a fast-paced environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

include, but are not limited to, the following

  • Consult on all client travel requests including advising clients regarding destinations, cultures, customs, weather, and activities. 

  • Sell and coordinate transportation, accommodations, insurance, tours, and activities. 

  • Create trip itineraries through AXUS Travel App. 

  • Coordinate travel logistics including flights and transportation (air, train, car, boat, etc.) 

  • Coordinate with the Hospitality team to make sure dining suggestions are offered and that all reservations are confirmed in the itinerary. 

  • Stay current with what’s new in the travel industry. 

  • Track changes in weather that could affect travel. 

  • Network within the travel industry. 

  • Reconfirm all aspects of trip itineraries, no matter how big or small. 

  • Complete credit card authorization forms on behalf of members, as required. 

  • Obtain information and pertinent travel details from clients or their assistants, as necessary. 

  • Create city guides. 

  • Confirm car requests separate from trip itineraries. 

  • Conduct research on destinations and industry trends. 

  • Maintain accurate records of bookings, payments, transactions, phone calls, emails, CRM activity, and meetings. 

QUALIFICATION & SKILLS

  • At least 2+ years’ experience operating as a Travel Advisor. 

  • Strong sales and interpersonal skills. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, especially with prioritizing tasks and time management. 

  • Proven track record of success. 

  • An understanding of leisure products and services within the luxury travel sector. 

  • Ability to book air/hotel/cars etc. in the SABRE reservation system is a must. 

  • An understanding of financial processes within the travel industry – generate invoices, process refunds, prepay hotels and tours, etc. 

  • Ability to handle travel issues, conflicts, complaints, cancelations, rescheduling, etc. 

  • Working knowledge of world geography. 

  • Willingness to engage in travel industry events as required, including but not limited to webinars, conferences, meetings with sales reps, and familiarization trips. 

  • Willingness to “get it done” as required - the nature of our business necessitates a flexible work schedule, which includes supporting our members during holidays (unless you are observing for religious purposes) and on weekends. We require that employees lend support to requests outside of regular office hours (currently 11:00 am to 7:00 p EST, Monday through Friday). 

  • Experience with Salesforce CRM is a plus.
